A new Huffington Post article discusses how college students are taking up mindfulness practices in order to relieve stress. College students have tremendous pressure to meet deadlines and do well in school. As a result, many of them are in a constant state of worry. Some students even feel guilty when they are not studying. They feel as if any time not spent in the library or in class is a “waste.”
Weston Ross, a Duke University Ph.D. student, has taken up a daily mindfulness practice called CalmCircleCollege as a way to “become a whole gain.” CalmCircleCollege is a mindfulness program intended and designed specifically for college students. CalmCircleCollege has found that college students who make time to meditate, pay attention, and differentiate themselves from external pressures are ultimately more productive, clear, fulfilled, and less anxious.
