Meditating on the Subway

“Dealing with a daily commute can be stressful enough.  Add unhappy people and crowds and it can feel 10 times worse.  I have looked for ways to make the commute more of a sanctuary for my mind.  A way to energize my body and my mind for the day or week ahead.  Enter, a meditation on the subway.”

As subways become increasingly overcrowded and delayed, we’re guessing that your daily commute is becoming a more stressful affair.  Well, dear reader, we wish you a peaceful and pleasurable trip to work this morning however you’re arriving, and here’s something that might help you achieve that: meditation. Specifically meditating on the subway.

According to research, meditation can help ease mental tension, and it might also improve sleep, fight depression and illness, and reduce lower back pain.
