Leave Work at Work with the Help of MindfulnessPosted September 26 2017
People work so much harder today than they did 20 years ago. Most families even have both parents working, adding to the stress at home. The kids get home before the parents and everything after 5:00pm requires all the mental energy we have. Adding to our stress is the fact that we never really leave work, the office follows us home.
Workaholics (as we like to call ourselves) develop a number or issues bot mentally and physcially. The most drastic of which can be depression, high blood pressure and ulcers.
This is where a Mindfulness comes in. Our mind is fully attending to what’s happening and what we are doing. Practicing Mindfulness allows us to reduce the stress and focus on what is happening around us “out of the work environment”. It allows us to be fully present and aware so that we are not overwhelmed.
