David Ison, founder of TheraSound, composer, sound designer, meditation teacher, bio energetic practitioner and developer of the modern wisdom practice he calls Meraki has indeed, lived an extraordinary life.
Born into a wealthy coal mining family and not wanting to participate in the continued destruction of the Applacian land and its people, David struck out on his own in 1970, beginning a life long journey of healing his heart, finally finding the gratitude for the years of abuse he suffered at the hands of a sadistic stepfather and an emotionally disturbed mother.
Along the way he learned the ancient sacred sciences and wisdom practices, becoming an adept in the art of mind, body and spirit medicine. Immersing himself in these venerable visions of how one can live a fulfilling life, David firmly committed to the development of self awareness and living in service to all beings.
Breaking his back in a serious car accident in 1980, lead to a long period of recovery and self discovery. Unable to walk and faced with an uncertain future, David healed his injury through the practices of energy medicine and sound, walking out of the hospital and into a life of purpose and conscious design.
His accident and the long recovery period gave him the time and opportunity to learn the science and practices of sacred geometry, harmony and proportion that brought him to develop TheraSound, music with powerful healing properties. Today, TheraSound is recognized around the world as the most effective therapeutic music available.
Fulfilling a life long dream of uniting with his forefathers and his magical lineage, Mr Ison lives in a restored 19th century cottage on the west coast of Ireland with his partner, Maura, where he continues his work with sound, meditation and medicine.
His book “Its Already There” chronicles some of his extraordinary journey, creating a true vision of how all of us can find and indeed, experience the healing Essence of Gratitude in every situation we encounter in our lives. Truly, a hopefull and beautiful message for each and everyone of us.
